NOVA’s #1 Mexican Restaurant to Open Fairfax Location

Zandra’s Taqueria, a two-time winner of Virginia Living Magazine’s “Best Of Virginia” competition, is bringing its fresh take on Mexican food to Fairfax, VA this fall. The popular eatery is known for using fresh, local ingredients to create classic flavors like carne asada and carnitas, along with creative combinations such as crispy fried chicken or gyro-inspired tacos.  

The second location for this gourmet taco bar will be at 3950 University Drive, just a few steps away from free garage parking. Much like the original Zandra’s in Manassas, it will offer lunch and mid-day taco specials, craft cocktails made with house infusions and well-curated taps. George Mason University students can receive $1 off tacos any time of the day with valid school ID.  Plans to offer live music on weekends are also underway.

​“We chose to expand our restaurant into Old Town Fairfax because we like to be a part of a community,” said Miguel Pires, owner of Zandra’s. “The school, historic downtown and local events all remind us of our first location in Historic Downtown Manassas, which is also where I grew up. My team and I are excited to bring our love for tacos, freshly made guacamole and hand-crafted margaritas to Fairfax. We cannot wait to become part of the local scene here.”

“I work in Manassas and I love going to Zandra's during my lunch break; I just can't find tacos as unique and delicious anywhere else.  I am thrilled to be getting one close to home” said customer Amanda Malloy, who lives in Fairfax. “I’ve talked about Zandra’s to friends and family in Fairfax, and am excited to share this treat with them.
